About Us
Liberty Title was created and began operating with three employees as a full service title company in October 1993. In January 1997, Debbie Hammons was brought on board as President and Managing Partner to oversee the day-to-day management as well as find opportunities to expand the company.
Having worked in the title industry for over 20 years, Debbie brought to the company extensive experience in all types of real-estate transactions, including; residential resales, refinances, construction loans, equity trades, 1031 tax deferred exchanges, builder and commercial closings.
Since 1997, several major developments have occurred:
Due to our years in the Central Florida real estate market as well as our commitment to provide the best service, Liberty Title has been an approved closing agent able to perform closings and issue title policies for all of the major lenders operating in the state.
In order to stand apart from our competitors, in 1998, Liberty Title began offering off-site and after hours closings to our clients. We make ourselves available to travel to client offices, borrowers' homes or places of business, or wherever needed to help "get the deal done!"
The Company is a title insurance issuing agent for two of the major underwriters in the United States: Lawyers Title Insurance Corp. and Old Republic Title Insurance Co.
As an agent, we have at our disposal a multitude of resources for which we can avail ourselves and often times, pass on to our clients.
Liberty opened its own title department in 1999 which is currently operating in a state of the art title plant owned by one of its underwriters and located in Maitland, FL. This affords the company the opportunity to control the title work production and allows better delivery of title commitments to our clients-typically, 24 to 48 hours for orders in the Central Florida area. We are also able to obtain title work thru our underwriters for any county in the state.
With the increase in the Spanish real estate market, Liberty Title brought on a bi-lingual closer in 2000 to service any of our clients that require an interpreter.
In 2000, the Company discovered a way to perform closings throughout the state by the use of independent closers, who will close anywhere we require and, typically, at any time needed, including weekends. We have found this very useful for our clients who lend in other areas of the state and would prefer an actual closer to meet with their borrowers as opposed to a "mailaway" closing.
